Intro to Templates

Updated over a week ago

Templates are customizable layouts that can be used to create emails. To save time in the design and content creation process, you can customize pre-built Seguno templates or build your own.

Types of templates

Starter templates

Your account comes filled with starter templates that can be used for newsletters, campaigns, and automations. Starter templates contain pre-selected sections and action-oriented copy for popular newsletter topics. Additionally, all starter templates have built-in best practices, from the length of the email to the use of call-to-actions and more.

Template store

Seguno offers professionally designed templates in the Template store. These templates are focused on e-commerce events and holidays throughout the year.

Create a new template

Creating a template allows you to save an email layout to be used for future newsletters. For shops that use a customized email layout, creating a template can save time in the email creation process. Once you create a new template, the template will be available on all Template Selection pages.

For some templates, assigning a discount may be dependent on the newsletter. Use the Conditional content dropdown to preview how your template will appear with or without a discount assigned.

To create a new template:

  1. Navigate to the Templates page.

  2. Click Create template.

  3. Fill in the email details.

  4. Click Create template.

  5. Edit the email sections.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Back.

Create a template from a newsletter

Using an existing newsletter as a template can save time if you find yourself using the same newsletter layout for multiple emails.

To create a template from a newsletter:

  1. Navigate to the Newsletters page.

  2. Select the newsletter you want to use to create a template.

  3. Click the Actions dropdown.

  4. Select Save as template.

  5. Edit the title.

  6. Click Save.

Once you save the template, it will be available on all Template Selection pages.

Customize, duplicate, and archive a template

As you use and create templates, there are options to help manage your template library.

Duplicating a template allows you to change the title and primary section of the template while keeping the same layout.

To duplicate a template:

  2. Click the More options icon.

  3. Select Duplicate.

  4. Update the title and select the primary section.
